Monta Loma

A neighborhood of mid-century modern homes, including about 200 Eichlers, where Steve Jobs spent part of his childhood.

Monta Loma lies between San Antonio Road, Middlefield Road, Rengstorff Avenue and Central Expressway, with homes by Joseph Eichler, John Calder Mackay and Mardell Building Company.

The Jobs family moved there in 1959 and left for Cupertino in 1967. An Ohlone mound near the neighborhood was a ceremonial center long before.
