Pacific Press

The Seventh-day Adventist publishing house that moved to Mountain View in 1904 and printed books in dozens of languages until 1984.

The town offered the Pacific Press Publishing Association five acres to move from Oakland, and about 100 Adventist families came with it, settling south of the plant in what is now the Shoreline West neighborhood.

The Board of Trade called it the largest printing and publishing house west of Chicago. It moved to Nampa, Idaho, in 1984-85.
